McLaren Manchester Track Day at Anglesey Circuit

This year, McLaren Manchester supported the Annual Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Track Day, hosted at Anglesey Circuit.

Equilibrium is an award winning Chartered wealth management company based in Wilmslow, the same Cheshire town as our new showroom. Jamie Arnold, son of Tim and Belinda passed away in February 2018, after battling short battle with cancer, caused by the hereditary, Lynch Syndrome.

Equilibrium's owner, Colin Lawson, is a keen trackday enthusiast and budding racing driver who has been a client and friend of Jamie's dad, Tim, a licenced motorsport instructor, for several years. As well as taking part in general public trackdays, since 2016 Equilibrium have run their own exclusive trackday at Anglesey Circuit in North Wales in mid September. Jamie took part in both of the first two Equilibrium trackdays, helping out with looking after clients, doing passenger rides and supervising clients on track.

Colin has become a good friend more than just a client, both to Jamie and his Dad, and he and his wife and business partner Gaynor have decided to name the trackday "The Annual Equilibrium Jamie Arnold Trackday" in Jamie's honor, to help to raise awareness about Lynch Syndrome and to raise money for charity.

On Thursday 13th September, McLaren Manchester partnered for the first time with The Jamie Arnold Track Day, bringing a variety of models for attendees to experience the driving dynamic which McLaren are famed for.

Guests were allocated driving slots for the 570S in Volcano Orange and 720S in Burton Blue, accompanied by McLaren Professional Drivers who demonstrated best practice before a quick pit-stop to change who was behind the wheel. A static 570S Spider was also on display for guests to peruse the features at their leisure once the driving allocation had ended.

The September Sun was shining throughout the day and a Lobster and Champagne BBQ track-side completed a fun day of fast cars and fundraising. The main beneficiary of the funds raised for charity will be St Rocco's Hospice in Warrington, Cheshire, who looked after Jamie so well.
